Carin Whitney helps steer the firm's design discourse and makes the language of architecture accessible to a broader public.
Carin is responsible for deepening the public's awareness of KieranTimberlake's research-based design practices through media outreach, museum and gallery exhibitions, and speaking engagements. Drawing from more than 15 years of marketing experience in the architecture industry, Carin oversees digital and print publication efforts including journal and magazine articles, award submissions, photography, video, and the firm website. She has also directed and developed content for books such as Loblolly House: Elements of a New Architecture, Cellophane House™, KieranTimberlake: Inquiry, Alluvium: Dhaka, Bangladesh in the Crossroads of Water, and the firm's latest monograph, KieranTimberlake: Fullness.
During her tenure, the firm has received more than 170 design awards, including the AIA Firm Award in 2008 and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award in 2010. Prior to working at KieranTimberlake, Carin earned her Master of Fine Arts and served as a printmaker and teacher of drawing, multimedia, and papermaking.
